Graduated summa cum laude from the Law School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), Santiago campus, Dominican Republic.
Graduate of the Master's Degree in Government from the University of Essex, England.
He began his career as a university professor and director of the Center for Political and Social Studies at PUCMM; he also practiced law privately and worked as a public defender.
